Biodisinfestation With Agricultural By-Products Developed Long-Term Suppressive Soils Against Meloidogyne incognita in Lettuce Crop

چکیده
Soil biodisinfestation is the process generated after incorporation of organic amendments followed by a plastic cover to control soilborne diseases. Among amendments, use agricultural by-products could be an interesting alternative as it promotes circular economy. In this study, beer bagasse and defatted rapeseed cake together with fresh cow manure were incorporated into soil (1.5, 0.5, 20 kg/m 2 , weight, respectively) assess their capacity reduce disease incidence caused root-knot nematode Meloidogyne incognita in protected lettuce crops develop suppressive soils. The trial was conducted commercial greenhouse for 7 weeks during which temperature continuously recorded at three different depths (15, 30, 45 cm). Short- long-term effects assessed: before treatment, first crop post-treatment one year post-treatment. Long-term fate of nitrate fertilizer in agricultural soils.
Increasing diffuse nitrate loading of surface waters and groundwater has emerged as a major problem in many agricultural areas of the world, resulting in contamination of drinking water resources in aquifers as well as eutrophication of freshwaters and coastal marine ecosystems. Although empirical correlations between application rates of N fertilizers to agricultural soils and nitrate contamin...
متن کاملInteraction of Meloidogyne javanica with Different Races of Meloidogyne incognita.
The interspecific interactions of Meloidogyne javanica with races 1, 2, 3, and 4 of M. incognita on tomato were determined. Impacts of the interactions on fecundity and morphometrics of females were also examined. Mutually inhibitory interactions occurred between M. javanica and the races of M. incognita, but the negative interactions did not reflect in plant growth. Numbers of root galls, egg ...
متن کاملLong-term fate of nitrate fertilizer in agricultural soils is not necessarily related to nitrate leaching from agricultural soils.
Accounting for the fate of inorganic N fertilizer in agricultural systems is critical to sustainable production. Sebilo et al. (1) provide a unique long-term record of NO3 fertilizer fate that demonstrates N molecules from a discrete fertilizer application are transferred to soil organic matter (SOM) and subsequently mineralized over the course of approximately 100 y, during which they contribu...

The influence o f various crop rotations and nematode inoculum levels on subsequent population densities of Meloidogyne incognita races 1 and 3 were studied in microplots. Ten different 3-year sequences o f cotton, corn, peanut, or soybean, all with cotton as the 3rd-year crop, were grown in microplots infested with each race. Cotton monoculture, two seasons o f corn, or cotton followed by corn...
متن کاملBehavior of Tethered Meloidogyne incognita.
The tethered-nematode technique was adapted for use with second-stage juveniles of Meloidogyne incognita. The data demonstrate that M. incognita exhibits the same patterns of behavior as adults of the free-living nematode, Caenorhabditis elegans. The principal differences are that M. incognita is slower and less regular in its behavior than C. elegans. The frequency of normal waves is about 0.2...
